Setup ubuntu - Desktop

Go to www.ubuntu.com. Download>Desktop

Select download (Approx. 1.4GB).

Download and install the setup for VMware Workstation 9 (429 Mb approx.)

Double click and run VMware workstation.

Create a New Virtual machine.

Browse to the installer disc (ubuntu.iso image).

Enter the required information.

Create a new folder wherein you want the installation or VM files to be created.

Customise the hard disk to 40Gb.

Customize Hardware to increase RAM upto 4GB.

The installation will proceed.

Installation completed. Enter credentials to login.

Search for terminal (terminal is the command line interface wherein you can enter the commands).
